This Madewell red sweater was a must have from the moment I saw it. Obviously, it will go great with jeans, but I really wanted to layer it over this white shirt dress. I love the ease of this dress and even though it’s white, it can easily be worn in the Fall.
The secret to layering a dress is really simple, treat it like it’s one piece. You don’t want it to look broken up and sloppy. You want it to flow and look like its all one dress. Seamless.
If it’s easier, think of it as a skirt. What would you pair with a skirt if it looked like the bottom of your dress? Don’t pair a loose dress with a tight top. But you can totally pair a tighter dress with an oversized sweater. Example: this body-con dress would be super cute with this oversized sweater. Be creative, it’s fun to add another element to your wardrobe.
We pre-gamed for my husband’s birthday this weekend. His actual day is tomorrow, but in our family, a birthday lasts a week (sometimes 2, when it’s me.) We celebrated with our family and my husband smoked the best pork butt that I have ever had.
I actually feel a little bit guilty. It was his birthday weekend and he did the majority of the cooking. He said it was what he wanted, so I am not going to fight him on it. I did totally bail on him Friday night, though. He stayed up until midnight to put the meat on the smoker and I was out at 10:30. I couldn’t help it, I was so tired!
