Happy Monday day, friends! As you all may have seen, we got a ton of snow here in the South over the weekend. What was supposed to be a light dusting resulted in over 6in of snow! Which is quite uncommon for us in general, let alone in December. My son still thinks that we are going to have a white Christmas.
Since we’ve been inside for the past few days we’ve been able to do a lot of Christmas planning. I’ve done all my shopping, so now it’s on to what everyone is wearing. Especially me. And this plaid dress is the perfect piece for Christmas Day! It’s super comfortable and forgiving, since it’s more of a swing dress.
I did make the mistake of ordering it in petite the first time. It looked like a tunic shirt on me and I’m only 5’2”. Not what I was going for. So order a regular length unless you want it to be a shirt.
Friday, when the storm started to hit my husband decided to work from home, and not tell me. I woke up in a panic because I thought he was late for work. It was kind of a joke because he gets stuck in the snow traffic every year, so for him to say home for light snow was pretty amazing.
They didn’t cancel school, because no one thought it would really snow. So I took the kids to school and went to the mall. I had to find a new outfit for the holiday party because the weather was in the 20’s over the weekend. My husband said that I would freeze in my lace dress because part of the party was outside. I was so bummed, but now I was on a mission to find a new outfit, in one day. Happily I found these pants and this fun top after a lot of searching.
On my way home the snow really started to kick in. Of course they closed school and we had to get our kids ASAP! So in true Atlanta snow fashion, everyone forgets how to drive and their manners. A drive that should have taken me 15 min took me over a hour. People were cutting others off, driving in the wrong lanes and sidewalks and blocking huge intersections. It was insane. None of this was caused by the actual snow, just impatient people!
Anyway, long story short, we made it home and watched the snow fall throughout the day and night. And, of course our holiday party was cancelled. So we stayed home and drank a lot of hot coco and played in the snow all weekend.
