Anyone can tell you that I am EXTREMELY against wearing leggings as pants.  I fully believe that the general crotch region should always be covered, even if you have the best body in the world.  If the pants you are wearing do not have pockets, then yes, they are leggings.  One of the reasons I believe this so much is because I have seen the horrific images of wearing leggings as pants, and not just in Walmart.  What some people don’t realize is that in certain lighting, EVERYONE can see your underwear! Not a good look.  So you may be asking yourself, “but Blaire, you are wearing pants as leggings in this very post!”  Yes, I am breaking my own rule.  I would like for this tunic to be a bit longer.  It does technically cover the front and it definitely covers my rear, but if I were to raise my arms up, you would see errrrrrything!!!  I am currently shopping around for a longer white tunic.  I can’t quite find what I am looking for, because the stores are all offering tank tunics at the moment. If you have any recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it.  The next time I wear this, I will be wearing my black denim instead or even these!

I realize that I might be stirring up a firestorm of controversy with this topic, but this is truly my opinion.  I would love to hear your thoughts.  How do you feel about leggings?  Do you agree with me and the fabulous Blair Waldorf, or are you of the opinion that leggings can be worn without worry of top length?  Discuss…

    I totally agree that leggings are not pants! It should be simple but for some reason it is hard t find a shirt that is legging friendly! Sometimes I layer a longer tank under the sweater or top to make it long enough.

    Love those boots! I agree with you, I have the pixie pants/leggings from J.Crew and even though they are extremely thick, even thicker than some of my jeans, I feel weird wearing them with a shorter shirt because they don't have any pockets! Have a great weekend 🙂

    Yessssss this is my same rule!!! If legginigs are worn the whole area need to be covered, just incase of a mishap hahah! Buttttttt they are nice spanx legginigs so you can totally get away with it and this whole outfit is so fabulous! I mean those boots!!!

    lol so funny! I am personally with you, I do not feel comfortable if my butt isn't covered when I wear leggings and I also very much with you on the covering up the crotchal area as well. I think you look cute – that shirt comes pretty darn close to being regulation length so I give it a thumbs up! 🙂

    I couldn't agree more!! Gotta cover up your lady bits, lol. I will stir up even more controversy and talk about wearing yoga pants in public, I think the same rules apply, you need to cover your butt if you're going to roll through the grocery store in those bad boys.

    I feel the same way about wearing leggings…which really stinks because I can never find tunics long enough to cover my front area..I am pretty tall with a longer torso so I almost have to buy dresses to wear with leggings. lol!

    I love wearing leggings and honestly, I'd say (especially during the winter/fall) that's pretty much all I wear. HOWEVER, I alwayyyyyys wear a shirt that's long enough to cover the front and back. I do have a couple shirts like yours up above that don't cover it "as well" as I would like, especially when I put my arms up, but usually the only time I wear an outfit like that is if I plan on staying in/at my boyfriends so no one's going to see anything anyway! Love the boots you're wearing, by the way!

I finally jumped on the over the knee boot trend with these Louis et Cie boots.  I love the brown because that is mainly what I wear, and the heel gives them just a little bit of oomph.  I have scoured the internet and they are no longer available, but I will link up some options below.  This outfit by the way will be what I wear for Valentine’s Day date night!

      Hi Cynthia! I'm 5'3", and I thought I would not be tall enough to wear these, but I think the trick is to keep the top hip length. They are surprisingly comfortable. I wore them all day at an event last week. I would definitely go for it!
